Who we are
We are a design studio based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, working across three disciplines: branding, graphic design and websites. They are connected on purpose. A logo, a poster and a web page should feel as if they come from the same place, so we design them as one system.
We call ourselves a creative technology studio because craft and technology belong together: the care that goes into a logo also goes into how a page loads on a phone.
What we believe
Three things clients feel before they can name them: a consistent identity, considered materials and legible typography.
Consistent identity
One logo, one palette and one set of rules, applied the same way on every card, document and screen.
Considered materials
We design how a mark feels as well as how it looks. Foil, deboss and paper are shown as mockup treatments, so you can judge the effect before anything is printed.
Legible typography
Type is sized and spaced to stay clear at card size, on a wall and on a phone.
How we work
Listen
We start with your goals: what you want the work to do, who it is for and where it will be seen.
Define
We settle one clear idea to build on, so every later decision has something to be measured against.
Design
Every detail is considered: spacing, type, colour and the way a piece behaves at small and large sizes.
Deliver
You receive files and systems that are ready to use, organised so others can pick them up.
How we show our work
The portfolio on this site shows digital mockups, designed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and rendered rather than photographed. Studio identity applies our own brand. Concept projects are self-initiated and use fictional brands, and each one is labelled.
We have not yet published client projects, and we will not present concept work as client work.
Language and place
This website is available in English and Swahili, each language with its own address. We are based in Dar es Salaam; the contact page has our details.
